She knows this because she has been watching the dashboard clock the way you watch a clock before test results come back. Through the side entrance, past a hallway that smells faintly of old hymnals, is a room where nine people she has never met are sitting in a circle. They are there because they have lost someone. She is there for the same reason.</p>
